FAQs | Bill Stage Voice Over

The questions I actually get asked. Answered straight.

How do I book a session?

Send your script to the contact page with any notes on tone, style, or direction you’re looking for. I’ll review it, confirm the rate, and get recording. No lengthy back-and-forth. Most projects are underway the same day you reach out.

How fast is turnaround?

Same day for most commercial and corporate projects — often within a few hours of receiving the script. Longer projects (audiobooks, full e-learning courses) take longer, and I’ll give you an honest timeline upfront. If you have a hard deadline, tell me and I’ll work around it.

What file formats do you deliver?

Broadcast-ready WAV and MP3 as standard. If you need a specific sample rate, bit depth, or format, just say so when you send the script and I’ll match your specs exactly.

Do you offer revisions?

Yes. Minor script changes and delivery adjustments are included at no extra cost. If the project scope changes significantly — whole new script, major re-direction — we’ll talk through it and I’ll give you a fair rate for the additional work.

Can I direct the session live?

Yes. I’m set up for Source Connect, which is the industry standard for real-time remote direction. You can listen in and give direction as I record, just like an in-person session. Zoom, Skype, and phone patch work too if you prefer a simpler setup.

What does a session cost?

Rates vary by project type, word count, usage, and exclusivity. A 30-second radio spot is priced differently than a 60-minute e-learning module. Send me your script and project details and I’ll get you a straight quote — no runaround, no bait-and-switch.

What style of reads do you do?

My wheelhouse is conversational — warm, real, the guy you’d trust in a TV spot. I also do traditional announcer, hard sell, corporate authority, automotive, and character reads. If you’ve got a specific vibe in mind, describe it and I’ll send you a custom audition before you commit.

Can I get a custom audition before booking?

Yes, and there’s no charge for it. Send a few lines of your script and I’ll record a quick read so you can hear whether I’m the right fit before you make a decision.

What’s your studio setup?

A Whisper Room isolation booth in my basement, Neumann TLM 103 microphone, Aphex 230 voice processor, and Source Connect. Broadcast-ready audio, zero background noise. Full details on the Studio Specs page.

Do you work with clients outside the US?

All the time. The studio is wired for remote sessions and file delivery works anywhere. Time zones are manageable — reach out and we’ll find a setup that works.

How do I send payment?

I work with agencies and production houses on net terms and invoice after delivery for established clients. For new clients, payment is due upon delivery. I accept PayPal, Venmo, Zelle, and check. Easy.

Still have a question?
