Here’s everything in the booth. No mystery, no marketing fluff — just the actual gear, what it does, and why it matters for your project.
The Booth
Whisper Room isolation booth — a professional sound isolation enclosure. Found it on Craigslist, drove a U-Haul to Nashville to pick it up, and installed it in my basement. It’s the real deal: designed for broadcast and recording environments, not a closet stuffed with moving blankets. Background noise in my recordings is essentially zero.
The Microphone
Neumann TLM 103 — one of the most respected broadcast microphones in the industry. Large-diaphragm condenser. Captures the full range of a voice without flattering it into something fake. What you hear in my demos is what your project sounds like.
Processing and Interface
Aphex 230 Voice Processor — handles the signal chain between mic and interface. Consistent, clean, broadcast-ready levels on every take.
Live Direction and Remote Sessions
Source Connect — I’m wired for live, directed sessions. If your team wants to listen in real time and give direction on the fly, we can do that. No phone patches, no workarounds. Source Connect is the industry standard for remote session direction, and I’m set up for it.
I also work via Zoom, Skype, and phone patch for clients who prefer a simpler setup.
File Delivery
Every project delivers broadcast-ready WAV and MP3 files. Specific sample rates, bit depths, or format requirements? Just say so upfront and I’ll match your specs. Files come clean, edited, and ready to drop into your timeline.
Turnaround
Same day for most projects. Often within a few hours of receiving the script. Rush jobs happen — just ask.
